Oh delicately timed irony, your unnerving presence has once again stuck it's finger in my belly button.

Stole my Avatar
Scratch | Project | LEAVE MY STUPID AVATAR ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was never the first to have a handle, pseudo, or an alter online and I was especially not on the cutting edge of avatars, but yet three posts after I introduce myself to www.liveleak.com I find my custom avatar surf'in the web under another identity.
I remember fighting avidly for my online identity in the early 90's. I saw the page above and had a little chuckle and it got me thinking about how many persona's the life of me took on. In the early 90's it was IRC and my obsession with Björk. I was handed the first #bjork channel on undernet and although I was proud to hold the title of OP, there was not too much activity happening. I would leave the channel running with my nick logging any activity that went on.
Deus was my nick, in tribute to Deus by Björk. And little did I know an online presence was proceeding me before I knew it. Not to sound dramatic but, calling yourself God online is a lofty claim for someone who didn't know what Deus actually meant. After a few discussion and a few clarifications I came to the conclusion the Deus was not the nick for me. Feeling somewhat silly about the whole matter I made sure that it was never to happen again. I read intensely about deus and the foundation of this name.
Latin, the catalyst of so, so many things was opening my mind to some very ancient concepts. deus exMachina was one item that caught my imagination. After a fair bit of reading I had decided who I was to be online.

Bjrk chat logs
1. See Bjrks very first IRC chat, 20-12-98
2. See another webchat log
3. See the SonicNet webchatUnfortunately the links are dead, but I have them on another drive.. I'll throw them up here if I get the chance.
Well, somewhat upset my formatting is off and the link is dead I will sum this up by saying that exMachina did last long online before it was hi-jacked by some cyber bandit..
I got over it.. But this liveleak thing?? It's bring up old memories..

deus exMachina
Before I get on about machines I should talk about this faith. The faith in something larger than yourself and the trust that it's there to guide and improve your life is fundamental to understanding humanity. I'd like to say, in a kind and passionate way, in which not to offend, but to encourage by opening a dialog between the fundamentalists of this world and the men of science. A discussion about who really controls the fate of mankind and where the strings are being pulled behind the scenes to allow other interests rather than the decency of gods great truth to speak for itself.
I am by no means a preacher or a priest. I'm not a true patron of any particular religion but I do believe in a higher power. I'm not a mathematician by education, but I do believe in the honesty of mathmatics. Of all the things mankind has created, the ability to calculate and make predictions into the future and into the past is mind boggling at the very least.
Some amazing men led the way into the 21st Century and then Corporations like Microsoft and AOL ventured their way in to reap rewards from the machine they've also slowly been trying to take control of it and we've been sucked right in.
I'm a huge advocate for open source, net neutrality and file sharing. I also believe that if any evidence of any higher being is ever to be found we need to keep the information of the world open and free for all to explore or manipulate. There are many open source OS that are doing quite fine in than of the free. I hope they stay that way.
Religion, much like a corporation has to some extent been doing the same thing for thousands of years. A few leaders give you the information you need but in many ways it's in the format or context in which they decide. Many Religions will not allow modifications to their text, different versions of their text and by all means you will pay them in some form or another to to participate in their flock.

The Greatest Story Almost Told
Well, everything has to start somehow but before it starts there are things that need to be put into place so that the motion of the effort is not lost in neither time nor money. I'm on a free blog site so I"m not to worried about the cash, but the time and effort, well that's something I guess I'm going to have to deal with. I've already spent most of my life in the tech world and undoubtedly I will spend the many more years in this industry and this is my unpolished version of the world today, through the eyes of a technology professional.
The articles you are about to read or if you've read this blog backwards, have read already, are meant to challenge your thoughts on technology and inspire you to think more about how technology is helping and sometimes hindering your day to day life. This will not be a read for everyone and I appreciate that, but those that do take interest in the topics put forth are encouraged to leave feedback via comment or emails.
Enjoy.
